Drywall, sometimes known as gypsum board or sheetrock, is a panel made of gypsum plaster that is pressed tightly between thick sheets of paper. These drywall panels are by far the most common finishing system for interior walls and ceilings, helping to create smooth, flat surfaces.

Drywall panels are commonly available in 48-inch and 54-inch widths, eight to fourteen-foot lengths, and varying thicknesses. In addition to these standard options, you can also get drywall panels that have an increased fire resistance, moisture resistance, or that are sound-resistant, a nice compliment to soundproofing insulation.
